From Texas Backroads to Trowbridge Smokemans
Smokeman’s Texas BBQ was born from a dream, a little wanderlust, and a whole lot of brisket.
Back in 2024, Sam and Ruby packed their bags and flew across the Atlantic with friends and one goal in mind: eat real barbecue in the heart of Texas. Not the quick-grilled stuff we’re used to in the UK — we’re talking low ‘n’ slow smoked meats, crackling bark, and juicy, melt-in-your-mouth brisket cooked over wood for hours. The kind of food that sticks in your memory and leaves your hands messy and your heart full.
What started as a fun trip with old friends quickly became something more. From roadside joints in Austin to backyard smokers in Houston, Sam and Ruby fell in love — not just with the food, but with the culture, the people, and the passion behind true Texas barbecue. They made friends who welcomed them like family and shared stories. They learned that BBQ wasn’t just food — it was tradition, community, and a way of life.
When they came back to Trowbridge, they knew they had to bring that experience home. So they did something a little crazy — they imported a full-size, pellet-fired offset smoker straight from the U.S. (customs weren’t thrilled). They spent months practicing and perfecting recipes, sourcing proper perfection, and learning the art of patience — because you can’t rush good BBQ.
And now, it’s finally here: Smokeman’s Texas BBQ, serving authentic, chicken wings, pulled pork, hotlink sausages, slow-smoked brisket, and more — all cooked just like they do it in the Lone Star State. No shortcuts. No gas. No compromise.
It’s the real deal, right here in Trowbridge.
Come hungry. Come curious. And come ready for a proper taste of Texas.
